1. MARK the tin to the height of the cake mix when poured in raw.
2. when you need to determine a cake mix quantity, FILL the 6" tin with water to this mark.
3. Pour into the desired tin and repeat until you have the new tin filled to the desired height.
4. Count how many times you have fill the 6" tin and times by the mix.
eg: a 6" tin filled 4 times to fill a 12" square times the 500g mix by 4= 2kg of MIXTURE
THIS CAN BE USED FOR ALL SHAPED TINS.
How many guests will my cake serve? How many pieces of cake?
This is answered by how big a piece of cake you want to serve, is it be served with coffee or as a dessert, is it a shaped cake and how high is the cake.
this is an approx guide only;
USING A 30 cm SQUARE CAKE 7 cm DEEP:
a coffee slice is 3 cm x 4 cm = 70 pieces
a dessert slice is 3 cm x 6 cm = 50 pieces
a round is approx 15% less and depending on the shape up to 20% less.
